DPA 4071

4071 Omnidirectional, Low-cut, Presence Boost
When recording voices from mic placement on a performer’s body, no frequency below 100 Hz is attractive.
For this reason, an acoustical low-cut has been incorporated in the 4071 capsule so the built-in pre amp
(and the wireless system) will have much larger headroom. Furthermore, it removes distant rumbling from cars,
trains, airplanes, etc.

Another and equally important consideration is that when placing a microphone on the body,
espcially on the chest, the frequency range of the consonants is damped, resulting in poor intelligibility.
The 4071 has a built-in boost to compensate for this loss. Especially for ENG work the 4071 is perfect
because almost no ENG mixer leaves any possibility for a compensation of this kind.

The 4071 lapel mic is available in three colors: black, beige and white.

Applications
Typical applications are ENG/EFP use on the reporter in studio or in the field, or film production use,
with hidden microphone placements on the actors.

Because of their small size, these tiny condensers exhibit an exceedingly accurate omnidirectional pattern
and therefore do not need to be aimed directly at the sound source to achieve quality pickup.

Applications
Excellent speech and vocal mics, DPA miniatures are de facto theatre standards. Musicians and engineers use them
as live or studio microphones for close-miking acoustic string instruments like violin, guitar, bass, viola and harp.

DPA BLM6000-B

DPA BLM6000-B Boundary Layer Mount, Black

When placing a microphone on a reflective boundary, you will benefit from the special characteristics of the sound field found here –
a 6 dB gain of direct sound and just 3 dB gain of the diffuse sound. This means that the sound captured from this
so-called “pressure zone” has higher sensitivity, clarity, and intelligibility compared to the sound captured from the “free air”
and serves neatly as a kind of acoustical zoom.

The BLM6000-B can be mounted on all surfaces that reflect sound such as floors, walls
or ceilings. Placing a DPA miniature microphone in this little device on the inside lid of
an open grand piano also provides a very distinct and crispy sound.

Microphone
The BLM4060 is a transducer designed to work under optimum conditions when placed on a tabletop, but it also performs well on any other hard, flat surface that reflects sound. The microphone element is a prepolarized omnidirectional miniature condenser microphone with a 5.4 mm (0.2 in) vertical diaphragm specially designed for maximum performance. The microphone body consists of a centre rubber disc that holds the microphone element mounted in an elegant stainless steel base. The BLM4060 has a 3 m (10 ft) cable.
Position
The BLM4060 can be very easily placed in essentially any position on the surface, even close to the edge (See graphs & more). Users will benefit from the special characteristics of the surrounding sound field on which the BLM4060 is mounted: a 6 dB gain of direct sound and only 3 dB gain of the diffuse sound. Therefore, the sound captured has both a greater clarity – especially at high frequencies – and speech intelligibility compared to sound captured above the surface.
Accessories
A wide range of connection adapters and power supplies makes it possible to use the BLM4060 with any microphone input. It is delivered with a DAD6001 adapter.
